Getting Accredited
If you’re interested in getting your organisation involved
in the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme we’d like to hear from
you.

This
accreditation boosts our capability in keeping our neighbourhood
safe clean and enjoyable places for local people to live and work.
Wendy Schmitt, Braintree District Council
The organisation as a whole and the individual members of staff
seeking accreditation are involved in the application process.
Standards for accreditation have been agreed nationally and only
after an organisation has satisfied strict criteria including race
relations, equal opportunities and training standards will it be
awarded the status. Employees must also pass an enhanced vetting
process.
Before beginning your application please read our guidelines to make sure
your organisation meets the criteria for application.
If it does you’ll need to arrange an initial assessment
interview between our Community Safety Accreditation Scheme Manager
Jenny Ayres and your organisation.

Accreditation
will enable our staff to take positive action to tackle anti-social
behaviour and improve the communities in which our residents live.
Mike Gatrell, Chief Executive of South Essex
Homes.
If your organisation is successful at assessment, we’ll ask you
to complete the application forms.
There is one application
form encompassing information about the organisation and
confidential forms for each employee to help us with the vetting
process.
To help keep the application process as simple as possible we’ve
put together guides for both employer and employee.
