We strive to tackle crime and improve public safety by
patrolling the streets, investigating crime and listening to your
concerns.
We’ve dedicated teams of officers to specific small areas known
as neighbourhoods. Within each of these teams is a police officer
who is on hand to listen to your concerns.

Crime reduction
advice
We have a team of Crime Reduction Officers
on hand throughout the county to give advice on how to keep you,
your home and your belongings safe and secure.
Keyholder
scheme
We hold details of keyholders for premises, business or
residential, throughout Essex to help us contact a responsible
person without delay if there is a problem.
Community Safety Accreditation Scheme
(CSAS)
Allows our Chief Constable Jim Barker McCardle to accredit
staff of organisations with powers to tackle graffiti, abandoned
cars and anti-social behaviour. Why not get involved?

You can apply for a licence online and read our safety

Essex Police
Museum
Visit the museum to discover more about
the history of Essex Police from 1840 to the present day,
experience being locked in a Victorian cell and try on a police
uniform!
Road
Collision Administration Team
Records all reported collisions on the roads of Essex and provides
information to help with civil claims.
Safer
Motorcycling
We have a team of experienced police
motorcyclists spread across the county to encourage riders to take
part in educational workshops.
