On 1st July 2011, Essex Police became one of the first police forces to switch to the new national police non-emergency 101 telephone number.

You can use this number if you need to contact Essex Police about any non-emergency issue, for example to report a minor crime, contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team or to speak to Essex Police about any other non-emergency issue.

The emergency 999 number remains unchanged and should continue to be used if you have an emergency.

The current 0300 333 4444 non-emergency number will continue in tandem with the new 101 number for a short while.
