Be Safe

Welcome to Be Safe

This section is all about you and is full of advice about how to stay safe whether you’re enjoying a night out, running a business or using the internet.

Essex remains one of the safest counties in the UK but unfortunately burglary and drug crime remain a problem. We’re working to reduce them but it’s important to be vigilant to protect your family and property.

On the next few pages you’ll find practical advice on a range of subjects from how to secure your home while you’re away to teaching your children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

We’ve also included information about rape, domestic abuse and hate crime and what the police can do to help. We’re determined that no one should have to live in fear.

We’ve tried to include as much information as possible and hope it’s useful but where possible we’ve pointed you in the direction of other organisations and charities that may be able to help.
