2SMART 2010
Hundreds of young people from Chelmsford and Maldon have enjoyed
the 2SMART 2010 roadshow today (Thursday, April 22).

Year sevens watched the 2SMART performers in action while learning
important messages about how to be 2SMART for bullying, alcohol,
knives and drugs.
Among the performers
were Rich Johnson, one of the country's best mountain bike trick /
trials riders, Kayzar Dance, an exciting, friendly and dynamic
dancers and Big Fen and A2W, who are two of the best
basketball freestylers in the world.

One of the
strengths of the show is how many young people we are able to
reach. It is a chance to give them positive messages about taking
the right path in life.
Insp Kevin Whipps
Sgt Andrea Prout said: “The 2SMART shows allow young people to
be better informed about bullying, alcohol, drugs and knives. I
believe that the show will make them stop and think before taking
the wrong direction in life.
“The shows are also a great way for young people to meet their
local officers – so if they need our help in the future they will
know who to turn to.”

“It also gives them the chance to gain confidence in us –
helping to build a strong relationship between young people and the
police.
“2SMART generates a real buzz and gives officers and young
people something in common.”
