Percy Unsworth Battle - Essex County Constabulary.
Served from 1st December 1912. Killed 4th September 1914.

Police Constable Percy Unsworth Battle was the husband of Mrs. R E Battle of 36 Weald Road Brentwood. He joined Essex County Constabulary on 1st December 1912 and left on the outbreak of the war on 4th August 1914. Exactly one month later he was killed in action whilst serving as Private 13463 in the 2nd Battalion of the Grenadier Guards. He was buried in grave number 5 at the Guards Grave, Villers Cotterets Forest in Aisne, France.
