Police Constable Frederick John Boyce served with Essex County Constabulary from 1st April 1914 to 24th May 1915. He was killed on Thursday, 27th July 1916 whilst serving as Private SPTS/1881 in the 23rd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. He was unmarried. He is commemorated on Pier and Face 8 C 9 A and 16 A of the Thiepval Memorial in Somme, France.
