He was killed on Thursday, 27th July 1916 whilst serving as Private SPTS/1881 in the 23rd Battalion, Royal Fusiliers. He was unmarried. He is commemorated on Pier and Face 8 C 9 A and 16 A of the Thiepval Memorial in Somme, France.
