Walter Perry - Essex County Constabulary.
Served from 7th September 1914. Died 9th July 1918.

One of 13 children of George Perry and Caroline (nee Bunting), Walter was born in Fordham, Essex, where his parents had married on 26 August 1888.

He joined the Essex County Constabulary on 7th September 1914 and left on 12th December 1915 after deciding to enlist, in Colchester, with the Military Foot Police, Military Police Corps.

Lance Corporal P/2888 Walter Perry, who was unmarried, died of disease on Tuesday 9th July 1918 while serving in German East Africa. He is buried in grave D at the Pemba Cemetery in Mozambique.
