The Law
The Law was a staff newspaper issued monthly to staff of Essex Police. Covering the latest news, views and information about the job, The Law covered all of the key issues over the past 40 years.
The final copy was issued in August 2010 and a new quarterly publication called 'Up Beat' has now replaced The Law with the first issued released in December 2010.
Each issue is presented as a Portable Document Format file (PDF). Click on the year and then the issue you are interested in. Once opened each document is fully searchable within Adobe Acrobat Reader software.
The average file size for each issue is about 5Mb so please be patient when waiting for the files to download.
Alternatively, the entire archive can be searched using Google. We have provided a customised Google search which only searches within copies of The Law. Due to the way the text was captured during the scanning process, some larger headlines were not fully recognised and therefore may not show up in search results.
