Update

Operation Brakes is continuing throughout the year in and around the Laindon area to combat speeding motorists. Please be mindful about keeping your car keys away from your front door as we are having vehicles stolen with the keys. I would also ask that you are all mindful that no personal items are left in vehicles overnight to prevent vehicle crime.

Community Speed Watch is now available in Langdon Hills! We are currently looking for volunteers to join our CSW Team. Volunteers will be trained to use a speed gun and will be proactive in helping to reduce speeding cars in Langdon Hills. If you would like to volunteer or require any further information please contact me on the details below:

Any comments please email PCSO Siobhan Murphy (siobhan.murphy@essex.pnn.police.uk) or phone 07875 003517

Keep your home safe
Please follow our crime prevention advice to help keep your home safe.

If your house has UPVC windows and doors please ensure that when you lock up you are double locking the door. When this is done, the handle is rigid. This will show prospective thieves that the lock is on and will make it very difficult and time consuming to attempt to gain entry.

Please also ensure your car keys are well away from the front door and in a safe place as vehicles are becoming increasingly difficult to steal without the keys. You should also remove any items of value when you lock your car, specifically sat navs and their cradles and any stereo or radio.

Did you know that you can register for free any property you have which carries a serial number? If you create an account on www.immobilise.com you can register property such as mobile telephones, power tools, televisions and computers.

The website is recognised by most UK police forces and is an excellent method of making sure that if your property is ever lost or stolen, we can identify its owner by checking a police only database.

It only takes a couple of minutes to create an account and you can even upload serial numbers of property that has been stolen from you and as yet has not been found or recovered.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
