I have 21 years' experience in the police family having served as police staff, a Special Constable and joining the City of London Police as a Constable in 1993. I transferred to Essex Police in Essex in 2007 as a Sergeant, where I led a response team. I joined the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) in April 2009 and recently moved to the St Martins and Nethermayne wards. Below you can read about the issues that you have made a priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the issues that matter the most to you.

Local Priority

Issue

Residents have complained regarding drug use and supsicious behaviour in and around Kingswood Park, Witchards, and Clay Hill Road.

Raised on 20/11/2011

Action

20/11/2011 Police will be conducting Hi-Visibility patrols of the area to gather intelligence and deal with any identified offenders. We are currently running an operation titled EVENING GLOW to combat this issue and will be using officers in uniform and plain clothes to gather intelligence and provide reassurance to residents. Police will adopt a zero tolerance approach and any identified offenders will be dealt with robustly. 18/01/2012 Since this issue has been raised Basildon council have trimmed bushes along a footpath which runs from Clay Hill Road to Kingswood Park along side the railway car park. This has made the area more open and less attractive to drug users. There have also been High Visability Patrols carried out on a daily basis in and around the Kingswood area therefore reducing the amount of calls we recieve regarding drugs. Patrols will still be carried out in the area and offenders dealt with.

Update

Recent successes:

Nethermayne ward has continued to reduce reported levels of crime and anti-social behaviour in comparison to the same period on the previous two years.

Police have continued to make arrests and significantly disrupt the offending patterns of the prolific offenders currently living and offending in Nethermayne Ward.

Current issues:

The Neighborhood Policing Team for Nethermayne ward has changed. Due to a large reform of Essex Police the way in which Neighborhood Policing of the area is conducted has been re designed. We now have a new Sergeant and a small team of 6 officers parading from Billericay responsible for Policing Basildon West. PC 72813 HAY will remain the Neighborhood Constable for Nethermayne and St Martins working closely with our five Police Community Support Officers to be the point of contact for members of the public.

Check the events tab for upcoming Neighborhood Meetings and Events in your area.

Crime prevention advice:

Burglaries of residential properties and outbuildings and vehicle crime have over the past six months been on a continual rise throughout the Basildon area. This is an area of crime which you can help to reduce. Please ensure you do not leave your valuables visible or your premises vulnerable to Burglars.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously please call Police so that we can identify problem areas and disrupt the activities of offenders within the area you live.

Police are working hard in your area to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and any assistance from you is extremely helpful in identifying and targeting known offenders.

Did you know that you can register for free any property which has a serial number?

If you create an account on www.immobilise.com you can register any property, such as mobile telephones, power tools, televisions and computers.
If your property is lost or stolen and then recovered Police can identify its owner by checking a police only database.

It takes a couple of minutes to create an account. Once your account has been created you can even upload serial numbers of property that has been lost or stolen from you which has not yet been recovered.

Please ensure that you do not leave valuables in view at home or in your vehicle leaving you potentially vulnerable to burglary and vehicle crime.

Do you have a bicycle which you need security marking? We can issue you with a bicycle passport and give you crime reduction advice to reduce the risk of your bike being stolen. Please contact your local neighborhood policing team for further information on 07850 030925
