***Updated on Wednesday 11th April 2012***

Operation Arsonal has been running for the past couple of weeks to combat the rise in theft from motor vehicles (TFMVs). This operation involves officers patrolling the ward and stopping and searching any persons or vehicles acting in a suspicious manner. Please be mindful of leaving items unattended in your vehicles and remember to secure your vehicle when not in use. During the second week that the operation was run, there was a 60% decrease in TFMVs.

***Updated on Wednesday 18th January 2012***
In response to our recent increase in dwelling burglary and vehicle crime Operation JUTE has been working in the ward. This operation provides a number of police officers dedicated to stopping and searching suspicious persons and vehicles.
We would like to urge residents to be vigilant around your property and please call in any suspicious vehicles or people in your area. For all our residents please be mindful about where you store your green recycling bins as this is one of the methods that some suspects are using to access the skylights and back gardens of properties. The local NPT will be increasing their patrols in the area.
Last month the local NPT were working in the ward on a dedicated ANPR operation. Officers were deployed to number of camera activations where numerous vehicles were stopped and searched and 13 traffic tickets were issued to drivers during the 4 hour operation. We hope this sends out a clear message that Essex Police are committed to driving down road traffic accidents and promoting safe driving standards.
