Below you can read about the issues that you have made a priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the issues that matter the most to you.

Local Priority

Issue

Nuisance Youths.

Raised on 01/02/2012

Action

It has come to our attention that youths are congregating in the Sainsbury's area of the Town. We believe they are waiting for the Braintree Youth Project Charity to open, known locally as "The Hut". PCSO Ruffle and Chapman will be working closely with the Charity to reduce this problem. **8th March 2012- It has been decided that this is to remain a priority as PCSO Ruffle and Chapman are in the process of working alongside "The Hut" to improve the current situation**

Updated on 08/03/2012

Local Priority

Issue

Nuisance Vehicles on the Flitch Way.

Raised on 01/02/2012

Action

With the nice weather upon us, there have been concerns that motor cross bikes etc will start to use the Flitch Way again. We ask if anyone comes across this problem to call the police on 101 to report it to us. PCSO will be patrolling the area when possible and if caught section 59's will be issued. ** 8th March 2012- As the summer months are approaching it is likely that this situation will continue as it appears to be seasonal. We will be encouraging cycle patrols from local PCSO's as the Flitch Way covers such a vast area. **

Update

The Behave or Be Banned (BOBB) scheme in Braintree is currently working well. We have 26 pubs who have signed up to the scheme.
This enables us, together with Pub watch members, to ban people from licensed premises (who are part of BOBB/Pub watch) if they have committed certain crimes within a bar or club.
There are currently six people on the scheme who have been banned for various amounts of time from entering pubs/clubs.

As a team we are always keen to identify people that cause anti-social behaviour in the area. The Braintree Town Neighbourhood Policing Team has worked hard to reduce the amounts of anti-social behaviour incidents being reported with Braintree town area.

We are asking everyone to keep an eye on your neighbour’s property; remember we are just a phone call away. Also please remember to lock and secure your car and put your keys in a safe place within your house and out of view.

If you see any suspicious activity, please call us. If something is happening that looks odd, or out of the ordinary, there may well be something going on. We would rather attend to investigate at the time, than hear from victims in the morning.

We would like to remind all visitors to the town to be aware of purse dippers who have been operating throughout the county. Keep your bags zipped up and held close and you should be fine. Remember – the people that carry out this type of crime do it for a living and are very good at committing these types of crimes. Please don’t give them any opportunity.
If you would like any advice regarding this issue please feel free to contact our team. We will also be offering crime prevention advice at our beat surgeries. Dates can be found on the events tab.

We are also continuing to use all available resources in relation to keeping the town centre a safe and enjoyable place at night. We are committed to deterring any potential offenders and reassuring those on a night out that Braintree stays a safe place at night.

If you have any issues you wish to discuss please do not hesitate to contact one of the team members, details can be found under the "Team Members" tab.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
