Below you can read about the issues that you have made a
priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the issues that
matter the most to you.
Local Priority
NAP (Neighbourhood Action Panel) are not present in either
Stisted or Cressing. Historically Stisted has never had a NAP
preferring to rely on Parish Council meetings to discuss local
issues and priorities. Cressing previously had a NAP but due to the
loss of use of the location for the meetings the NAP ceased to
function in 2010. If a new meeting place could be found for
Cressing and any willing volunteers to Chair and run these meetings
then I feel sure that we can start these up again in Cressing. If
you can provide either of the above can you please make contact
with PC Graham Snellin at Braintree Police Station.

Road Policing Unit. --- Ongoing. Jan 2012:- Speed Checks are still
being carried out in this area

Listed below are a number of events we invite you to come along
to. They're an opportunity for you to meet the team and discuss any
issues or concerns you have.
Update
A number of villages have shown interest in the Community Speed
Watch (CSW) scheme and a training program has been put in place for
the local volunteers. Cressing CSW has now been set up and is now
active. If you are interested in becoming a CSW volunteer please
email PC Snellin with your details.
Recently there have been a number of burglaries within the Cressing
and Braintree areas whereby garden sheds and outbuildings were
broken into. In particular the target items stolen have been
Fishing Tackle and Cycles. If you have such items we would
encourage you to pay close attention to your security of these, in
particular if they are kept in a wooden shed. Sheds are usually
very simple to break into and offer very little by way of secure
storage. If you do use such buildings for storage you may wish to
look at an alternative such as a garage or more secure outbuilding
where possible. Please also be vigilant for persons who may be
looking at potential 'targets' and if you see anything at all
suspicious please give us a call with as much information as you
can.
Aside from these incidents the crime level within the areas remains
low by comparison to other districts within the Braintree
area.
You can take action in a number of ways to help make your
neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
