Vehicles speeding on Ingrave Road, Brentwood specifically at the Junction of Ingrave Road and Orchard Avenue.

Raised on 27/10/2011

Action

Assistance has been requested from the local Road Policing Unit to conduct speed checks at the location and enforce any Traffic violations. Whilst conducting High Visibility Patrols in the area the Neighbourhood Team with enforce any vehicles and drivers breaking the speed limit and also deal with any other Traffic Law Offences that come to light. Speed checks are still continuing at the location both by the Neighbourhood team and the Road Policing Unit as well as High Visibility Patrols. Once a decrease in speeding motorists has been achieved the priority will cease.

Update

As a team we will continue to conduct High Visibilty Policing in and around the Town Centre and High Street area as part of an ongoing Operation, Operation Teutonic. This consists of High Visibilty policing in and around the High Street area including Licensed premises. This Operation also tackles Anti Social behaviour and alcohol related Anti Social Behaviour. Also as part of the Operation, Licensed Premises are routinely checked to ensure Licencing laws are complied with.

Officers also carry out regular patrols of Shenfield Common in response to concerns about youth drinking and ASB from the Conservators of Shenfield Common.

The PCSOs and I will also be focusing on recurring issues on the Seven Arches Estate and Shenfield Common to tackle ongoing anti-social behaviour as well as the congregation of nuisance vehicles and people on Shenfield Common. Since the introduction of the 'No Drinking Zone' the team feel that Anti-Social Behaviour has decreased in the area.

As a team we have seen a decrease in the number of Anti Social Behaviour related calls and feel that this is a result of Operation Teutonic being conducted, robust Policing by the team and enforcing the legislation available to us.

The No Drinking Zone in the High Street and town is now larger than just the immediate vicinity of the High Street. This has been extended to the surrounding roads and also includes Shenfield Common. This will enforce the fact that no person should be in possession of an open alcohol container within the zone. This gives officers the powers to confiscate alcohol and if this is refused the legislation gives police officers the power of arrest. This legislation is in support of reducing Anti Social Behaviour and violent incidents that are related to the consumption of alcohol.

As a Policing district and Neighbourhood Team we are conducting regular Operations to reduce crime and target Offenders who travel to the Brentwood District with the intention to commit crime and also target offenders that within the District. This will consist of a number of different approaches to both prevent and detect crime.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
