I have recently transferred from Southend where I have been serving as a tutor constable and response officer since 2006. In my new role as Neighbourhood constable I am responsible for the Benfleet, Hadleigh and Thundersley wards, although my duties take me all over the Castle Point district. As the summer is now upon us and the weather is getting hotter, please take care when you are out and about. Remember to wear sun tan lotion to avoid getting burnt and keep yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water.

If you are taking your dog out, please do not leave them in the car, as when the car heats up, the temperature will increase and can be fatal.

Please be mindful of bogus callers operating in your area. Remember to ask for ID and if you are not sure, don’t let them in until you have called the company to check.

Please be mindful of burglaries that could occur in your area. Again as the weather is getting hotter, the likely hood is that your windows and doors will be open to keep your house cool. Just remember if you go out to shut and lock them all, and make sure your home is secure before you leave. Make sure that all valuable items are placed in a safe and secure location, and if you notice anything suspicious then call police straight away.

As of the 1st of September 2014, it has been decided that Neighbourhood Meetings will be held every 8 weeks; the dates of these will be placed on the Neighbourhood Website and in the local paper.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
