Below you can read about the issues that you have made a
priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the issues that
matter the most to you.
Local Priority
You asked us to tackle : Anti Social Behaviour around Roseberry
/ Manor / Eversley Court / Woodside Park, Thundersley. This occurs
most days in the evenings.
Raised on 02/02/2012
This Issue was decided by the NAP members as an ongoing issue
and will be kept for the foreseeable future. In order to target
this we have set up Operation 'EGRET'. This delivers high
visibility patrols by NSOs and PCSOs to combat anti-social
behaviour. Officers are working closely with local agencies and
youths to resolve this priority. There has been a reduction in
phone calls received by the neighbourhood team since the start of
this Issue . With the actions in place it is hoped that this
improvement will continue. Following on Decembers NAP meeting this
action is to be carried over and the good work already in place
will continue. Regular foot and cycle patrols are in place
targetting Roseberry Court and the immediate area. PCSO'S and
Officers have been giving regular updates to the issues with rubble
on Roseberry Walk. Door knockings are to be carried out during
February by the Neighbourhood Policing Team to ascertain feedback
on progress to date. The Members of the NAP have kept this issue
after discussion at the February meeting as they feel that this
issue is an ongoing problem which, with the continued high
visibility patrols has become less of an issue. It was again
decided at the April meeting to keep this priority. The school
holidays and longer evenings have allready seen an increase in
youth numbers congregating and it was felt necessary to keep the
pressure on the youths to keep their behaviour under control. The
May meeting brought the same results as it was felt the continued
prescence of the police was keeping the youths in check. Again the
June meeting brought similiar concerns that the withdrawal of this
continued survellaince would result in the problems returning.
continued patrols and engagement with the known youths as well as
talking with the local community. February's meeting again
confirmed the succesfull work of regular patrols of the area has
kept the problem at bay - because of this success the members are
reluctant to arc
Updated on 04/02/2012
Listed below are a number of events we invite you to come along
to. They’re an opportunity for you to meet the team and discuss any
issues or concerns you have.
Update
Benfleet police station is now closed to the public but all our
services and the team can still be contacted via email or the
Neighbourhood phone 07791 680397. We will still hold our regular
beat surgeries check our website for details where you can meet
with us or ask for a home visit if any issues you have warrant a
more private meet. Police officers will still be using the Benfleet
station so the building will not be vacant.
Bogus Salespeople
We have recently had reports in our area of people knocking on
residents' doors offering to repair driveways and or that there is
a problem with your roof. If you have somebody knock on your door,
always ask for identification. If you think they are suspicious
please call us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
Cold Calling
Anyone being cold called by security companies are strongly advised
to terminate the call and report the caller to Consumer Direct on
08454 040506. Under no circumstances at all should an appointment
be made for a security survey to be carried out - those who
disregard this advice stand a very good chance of being ripped
off.
Keep an eye on your neighbour’s property; remember we are just a
phone call away. Also please remember to lock and secure your car
and put your keys in a safe place within your house and out of
view
If you see any suspicious activity, please call us. If something is
happening that looks odd, or out of the ordinary, there may well be
something going on. We would rather attend to investigate at the
time, than hear from victims in the morning.
SatNav's - Please remember to remove these from your vehicles
overnight, there are still thefts being reported from residents who
have left them in their cars overnight. It is also best not to
enter your address into the satnav under the title of home, (input
your address but give it another titile). Say for example your
vehicle was parked at a shopping centre and its was subsequently
stolen - all the thief would have to do would be select 'Home' from
the Satnav directory and it would reveal where you live- taking
them straight to your unattended home..
Police are warning users of social media websites such as Facebook
to check their security settings after burglars targetted and
unoccupies home . A house in Wisbeach was ransacked and computers,
jewellery, DVDS and a purse were stolen as a result of the
homeowners being monitored via their Facebook account.
PLEASE be extra vigilant when adding personal details to these
sites.
