Local Priority

Issue

Theft of Catalytic converter from the leighs area.

Raised on 01/03/2012

Action

There have been a spate of these sorts of thefts around the Leighs, often from vehicles that have been parked on the driveway. The crimes happen overnight and mainly from vehicles that have a greater ground clearance such as 4x4's or vans. Myself and colleauges are currently carrying out high visibilty patrols to deter potential criminals. I have also delivered letters to many addresses that have vulnerable vehicles and am curently trying to get around all the addresses with these vehicles.

Update

Please check out our dates for forthcoming events as we are keen to meet everyone in the community.

At the end of 2010 and the first few weeks of 2011 there was a slight increase in the number of dwelling burglaries in the Chelmsford area. Please can I ask that valuable items are not left on display and that you lock your windows, doors and sheds. Also make sure that your car keys are kept away from any windows, doors and cat flaps. Houses with high value cars on the driveway have been targeted, and keys are being stolen from the premises so please be extra careful.

It is important to call the Police and let them know about ALL suspicious activity. If you have a gut feeling someone shouldn't be where they are-they probably shouldn't! Give the Police a call and let us find out.

There has been an increase in anti-social behaviour in the School Lane, Main Road, junction in Great Leighs. Your Policing team take anti-social behaviour very seriously, and we encourage all our residents to report all incidents to us, however small. Without this information, we are unable to deploy our resources effectively to combat these issues.

It has been noticed recently that a lot of people are updating their social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter with what they are doing and when they are going on holiday. This information is easy to be viewed by criminals and is an advert for telling them when your house is empty. Please be careful what you write on your profiles.

PCSO Jessica FARRELL and PCSO Ollie HYLANDS are holding beat surgeries for the local community to come along and raise any issues or concerns. The times and dates are advertised on this website.

Please do not hesitate in contacting your local Policing Team in relation to any issues or concerns. We rely on information coming from the public to target out patrols, and to show a high visibility reassurance for the residents of Boreham and The Leighs.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
