Update
Are you interested in becoming a member of Neighbourhood Watch? Do
you feel you could play an important part in making the area you
live a safer place? If you are interested in becoming a
Neighbourhood Watch Co-Ordinator for your area please contact PC
Martin Willsher on the email address mentioned on this site for me
details. I am working hard on trying to make Waterhouse a
Neighbourhood Watch Area.
Waterhouse Neighbourhood Policing team are continuing the high
visibility patrols especially around the Forest Drive area after
numerous reports of anti-social behaviour. In the past months the
number of reports has dramatically reduced. If you are receiving
any problems of this nature please contact us, we take ASB
seriously and will deal with it appropriately.
If you are aware of roads in our community where speeding is a
problem, please contact us. We will then make plans to look at
these areas and put measures in place.
Our PCSOs will be attending and targeting areas on our beat where
we know speeding to be a problem. They will take with them the
speed indicator device and the speed guns. We have found in the
past that implementing these systems in areas where speeding is an
issue we can often drastically reduce the number of speeding
motorists.
We know that Forest Drive, Beeches Road and Writtle Road are
problem areas for speeding. But please inform us if there are other
areas you feel need attention.
If you would like any advice about how to keep you and your
property safe please contact Trisha Staerck, crime reduction
officer, at Chelmsford police station on 101.
The nights are drawing in earlier so its vital that we all ensure
that secure our property before we leave it. Sadly we have been
experiencing a steady increase in Dwelling Burglaries across the
Chelmsford District, we are asking for members of the public to
remain vigilant and report anything suspicious or any information
however insignificant to us on 101 or 0800-555-1111 (this can be
anonymous). I would like to take this opportunity to remind
residents to take extra care to check all doors and windows are
fully secured with the keys not left in the locks. If you are
interested in a home security assessment please contact one of your
local team to arrange this.
Incidents relating to Anti-Social Behaviour in the Forest Drive
area have reduced in recent weeks. We still urge all persons that
witness or are a victim to Anti-Social Behaviour to contact police.
Our officers are regularly out and about on patrol and will assist
with any problems you have. Essex Police will take positive action
against all those committing Anti-Social Behaviour and its our aim
to improve the quality of lives who its affected. The Mobile CCTV
van has been and will continue to be deployed throughout the area.
The van has recording capabilities within and therefore any
Anti-Social Behaviour being committed may be recorded and could be
used as evidence.
Please contact your local policing team if you receive any
intelligence relating to any Crime or Anti-Social Behaviour in your
area. Without the information you supply to us, we dont know what
is going on. We thank you for working with us in making the area
you live in, a safer place.
It has come our attention that there has been a recent crime trend
in your area. In particular, It has been noticed that sheds and
outbuildings are being broken into and items are being
removed.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind you to make sure
that your sheds and outbuildings are secure, including items stored
within them.
Thieves usually take small, lightweight valuable items that have a
healthy second-hand value.
Please ensure that you do the following to ensure you give yourself
the best possible chances of securing your property
• Keep your shed locked at all times, this is a visual deterrent in
itself.
• Firmly secure the shed doors and windows
• Anchor items to the floor within, such as lawn
mowers/bikes/ladders etc
• Anchor these items to each other to make it more difficult to
remove them
• Fit a grille to the inside of your shed windows (if
applicable)
• Fit a shed bar across the door
• Fit a lockable cabinet inside for power tools etc
• Purchase and fit a shed alarm
We know some of these suggestions have a financial impact, but many
insurance companies’s will not reimburse for stolen items if the
shed is not adequately secured. You must think of the replacement
value for your goods. A good way to keep track of your belongings
is to:
• Make an inventory of your belongings and include
photographs
• Note the Make, Model, serial numbers and
• Mark your goods with your postcode.
It is our aim to reduce the crime in your area, if you would like
further advice then please do contact the team on the numbers found
on this site. If you see anything suspicious, please do call us and
take as much detail as you can.
There are currently no policing priorities for Waterhouse Policing
Team. This doesn't mean that work is not being carried out however.
If you do feel that there are issues in your area that we should
know about, please contact the team to discuss further.
Please feel free to contact me or any member of my time if you wish
to discuss something. If the matter is of an emergency please dial
999. If it is not an emergency please contact 0300 333 4444. If you
wish to discuss an issue in the local area please call a member of
the team on 07817 454525.
May we take this opportunity to wish you all a happy, healthy and
safe 2012.
You can take action in a number of ways to help make your
neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
