Update

May 2012

Neighbourhood Constables (NC's ) are dedicated to crime reduction, engagement and problem solving within the neighbourhoods they serve. Your local officers, Sam Goodman and Emma Miller continue to serve your neighbourhood and the contacts they have built up are paramount.

04/05/2012 - We have recently been made aware of an increase of criminal damages in the Baden Powell Drive. The damages includes fence panels and posts, as well as vehicles. Please contact Police if you see anything suspcious or if you have any information.

04/05/2012 - Our top priorities at present include nuisance and obstructive parking, as well as off road motorcycles being used over green lands. the team will be issuing parking notices to those deemed to be causing an obstruction, and will consider issuing fixed penalty notices consisting of a thirty pound fine if irresponsible parking continues. Similarly, we encourage members of the public to call us when disturbed by off road motorcycles as we have a power to issue instant warnings to offenders. Should they then be caught again, we have the power to seize their vehicles.

Neighbourhood Action Panels (NAPs) are meetings which are held within your local community. They provide an ideal opportunity for members of the public to discuss issues and problems within their own neighbourhoods. We hope that you will attend and meet with us, councillors and other agencies to discuss local issues which are of concern to you. We look forward to meeting you. Please see the events tab for details of the next NAP event. The NAP are now looking for younger members.

Please remember to leave your vehicles secure and take all valuables with you. We are conducting patrols in the area and identifying vulnerable vehicles and notifying the owners. Several vehicles have been found with sat navs on view. This is a great temptation to thieves. Please contact Police with any information.

Do not open the door to rogue traders. Please be vigilant when sales people come to your doorstep and always check for identification. They may not always be genuine. Trading standards operate a trusted trader scheme and can be contacted on 08454 040 506.

Please continue to notify us about your concerns and if you do wish to report a crime please call 0300 333 4444 or 999 for emergencies. If you wish to discuss ongoing issues please call 07966 197360.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
