Below you can read about the issues you have made a policing priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the issues that matter the most to you.

Local Priority

Issue

To engage with the young people of Tiptree in various ways to then in turn reduce anti social behaviour and move to a more positive attitude towards and from them.

Raised on 26/02/2011

Action

The local NPT continues to engage with the young people in Tiptree and surrounding villages to promote attendance on Friday night to THE HUB, a new youth group for Friday nights for the 14 - 18 year age group. The Hub provides positive activities at The Community Centre and indoor Street 20/20 cricket at Thurstable Sports Centre led by a coach from The Essex Cricket Team. A fast game for all abilities where each player has 4 attempts at bowling. The Hub intends to provide a broader range of activities when it raises enough funds in order to take its members out on trips during Friday night sessions.

Update

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES...
Due to being a rural location we are more succeptable to Catalytic Convertor, metal, heating oil thefts and thefts from vehicles such as sat navs and index plates. Please make sure that your vehicles are parked in a well lit area where possible and with the rear of the vehicle backed against garages etc so as to hinder the extraction as much as possible. There are locking devices that can be purchased but this will not guarentee they are not taken or damage is caused. Please contact me if you wish for further advice.
DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLE ITEMS IN YOUR CARS!!!!

REPORTING SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE AND VEHICLES
I would also like to remind people that if they see a person or vehicle acting suspiciously to take as much detail as possible such as index plates, colour, description of people and direction of travel and call police immediately, we would rather come out to a false alarm than not be called at all.
IF YOU THINK SOMEONE MAY BE COMMITTING A CRIME IN FRONT OF YOU CALL 999 IMMEDIATELY....

BURGLARY IN TIPTREE
There have been several burglaries in Tiptree over the past few months, both are repeat victims and vulnerable elserly adults, anyone with any information should contact Essex Police on any of the contact numbers given or to CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111.

Neighbourhood Action Panels (NAPs) are meetings which are held within your local community. They provide an ideal opportunity for members of the public to discuss issues and problems within their own neighbourhoods. We hope that you will attend and meet with us, councillors and other agencies to discuss local issues which are of concern to you. We look forward to meeting you.

The next Neighbourhood Action Panel date is yet to be confirmed.

FLYTIPPING
Members of the public are urged to keep a look out when driving around Tiptree and surrounding villages for tipper and flat bed vehicles carrying waste. They do not have to be seen committing Flytipping but merely carrying the waste. We are asking for the public to record the registration, time and place seen and what the vehicle was carrying. Checks will then be completed by the council who will investigate if a waste carriers licence is held and where the rubbish was disposed of. Those found carrying waste illegally can be fined £300.
