are committed to making your neighbourhood a safer place to live,
work and visit and will work with the community and our partners to
tackle local problems. Purleigh is part of the Maldon district,
however Purleigh NPT covers areas including Purleigh, Hazeleigh,
Cold Norton, Althorne, Latchingdon, Langford, North Fambridge, Stow
Maries, Mayland, Ulting, Little Braxted, Wickham Bishops, Woodham
Mortimer and Woodham Walter.

Pc Sam Pateman (Collar number 3555)
I have been a police officer with Essex Police for over seven
years, working the majority of my career within the Maldon
District. Having worked within Southminster Section for some 4
years I have built up a good level of local knowledge and look
forward to futher developing this to target crime and anti-social
behaviour. Along with Southminster, I am the Neighbourhood
Constable responsible for Mayland, Steeple, St Lawrence, Bradwell,
Tillingham, Dengie, Asheldham, Althorne, North Fambridge,
Latchingdon, Cold Norton, Stow Maries, Mundon, Purleigh & Cock

PC Lea Keene (Collar number 70527)
I have worked for essex police for almost 6 years, I have worked
out of Maldon police station for 5 of those years. Previously I
worked as a response officer and a level 2 officer. I am now a new
member to the neighbourhood policing team covering the Woodham and
Wickham areas. I look forward to bringing in my skills to combat
crime in the area and reassure the community.

I have been a PCSO for 5years mainly working out of the
Braintree area. I have recently moved stations to the Maldon
district and look forward to meeting lots of new faces out and

PCSO Tom Gower (Collar number 72391)
I'm Tom Gower and I have been a Police Community Support Officer
for a little over 3 years now. During that time I have been based
at Southminster Police Station and have built up a good knowledge
of local issues. As the new PCSO for Purleigh, Cold Norton, Stow
Maries, Cock Clarks, Mundon, Althorne, North Fambridge and
Latchingdon, I hope to work with the local community in combatting
local issues and anti-social behaviour.

Update
Garage, sheds and motor vehicles are being targetted and items
stolen. please remove valuable items from these locations and
secure all areas.
Catalytic convertors are being stolen from Motor homes and Ford
Rangers (or any similar vehicle). Please be aware if you have a
vehicle that is high off the ground this can be a target please
take steps to secure vehicles in garages if available. Please be
very vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
The Purleigh Community Speedwatch Group is now up and running and
will be sited along Chelmsford Road, Purleigh at strategic times
and dates.This will be supplemented by static police traffic
enforcement with intended prosecutions for those who ignore the
posted speed limits.
