Update

Police operations are underway to combat a current trend of graffiti within the St Laurence ward. Graffiti tags have been sprayed in locations around the Prince Avenue area. If anyone has any information regarding these damages, please contact Eastwood Police Office.

Theft from motor vehicles remains a priority in the Eastwood area. We continue to urge owners to check that car doors are locked, set alarms and remove any valuable items. Sat navs and Ipods have been stolen recently, along with tools, number plates and catalytic convertors. This has now been set as a priority for Eastwood and St Laurence wards, therefore if you see any suspicious behavour please call it on the 101 number.

The district has seen an increase in burglaries over recent weeks and we would urge you to check your home security by, always locking windows and doors, even out for just a short while. Consider window alarms and locks, especially for older windows and use deadlocks if you have them. Don't leave keys in locks that can been seen from outside and keep keys including car keys out of sight. Use timers for lights and radios if you are away from home overnight, as this creates the impression that someone is in. Extra vigilence is encouraged.

Patrols within Eastwood Park and the surrounding area continue as part of an ongoing neighbourhood priority relating to nuisance youths especially now that we are seeing the lighter evenings. Although the weather hasn't been particularly good this last month in previous years we have seen an increase in reports during the better whether. However, there have been very few reports received over recent weeks of any anti social behaviour within the park.

We urge members of the public to please report incidents involving anti-social behaviour to enable us to crack down further and to ultimately combat this problem.

Crime remains low in Eastwood and is a safe and pleasant place to live.

Essex Police have launched a new non emergency telephone number. 101 can now be used to contact us to report any non urgent incidents, such as low level crime and anti social behaviour or to speak to an officer who is dealing with your enquiry.

To contact Eastwood Police Office with any information relating to the above, please call 101.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
