Lack of police presence on patrol and at events. This is
creating a confidence issue within the community which can and does
increase the perception of crime and anti-social behaviour. The
team will identify hot spot areas and working with EYPDAS (Essex
Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service) attend these locations to
work with the youth to reduce offences.

Local officers from the neighbourhood policing team will
endeavour to conduct high visibility patrols in their areas and
will try to achieve a 75% figure for time spent doing these patrols
on each shift. This will include local neighbourhood constables,
neighbourhood sergeant, police community support officers and
special constables working alongside the local team. Events such as
fetes, fairs, carnivals and festivals often attract a minority
number of people determined to cause problems and commit crime. The
local policing team will (where possible) provide a highly visible
presence at these events. Notice from event organisers has to be
received in good time to allow the correct level of staff for the
event. By attending these events we can only improve our community
relations, our knowledge of local issues and reduce crime and
reports of nuisance. 01/02/2012 Anti social behaviour in Alresford
in the month of January was extremely low. High visiable patrols
will continue around the village as this is having a positive
effect. 02/03/2012 February continued to have a very low level of
antisocial behaviour with only one report. Patrols will continue to
provide to confidence in police presence. 14/04/2012 Now the nights
are drawing out high visibility patrols will continue throughout
all of Alresford. ASB continues to be very low . 02/05/2012
Dedicated patrols around the village at all times continue
particularly around schools, churches and village halls as recently
there has been an increase in rural areas of burglaries.
