Police Constable Dan Heard (Collar number 2176)

I have been a police officer for 10 years and have worked in several locations and have worked on response and neighbourhood policing teams.I also trained student officers for 2 years.I was seconded to another unit from last year to March 2012 but I am now back fufilling the role as Dedicated Neighbourhood Constable. I am based at Brightlingsea Police Station.

I am PCSO Sue Groves and I am your local Brightlingsea Community Support Officer. I have worked for Essex Police for 12yrs starting as a Special Constable and a telephonist in Colchester. Since Oct 2003 I have been a PCSO in the Tendring District. I enjoy working as part of a team in Brightlingsea and aim to improve the community in which you live

Issue

Lack of police presence on patrol and at events. This is creating a confidence issue within the community which can and does increase the perception of crime and anti-social behaviour. The team will identify hot spot areas and working with EYPDAS (Essex Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service) attend these locations to work with the youth to reduce offences.
