Below you can read about the issues that you have made a
priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the issues that
matter the most to you.
Local Priority
There are currently no priorities for the Mistley, Manningtree
and Lawford area. Members of the team attend as many of the Parish
and Town council meetings that we are able. No members of the
public or the councils have asked for any priorities to be looked
at. 10/08/2011-Speeding vehicles has again been raised by a parish
council. This is looked at as an ongoing task by the Neighbourhood
Constables and our Special Constable colleagues who are on duty
most weekends.
Raised on 06/07/2011
13/12/2011-Numerous speed checks have been carried out by
special constables based at Mistley. Many fixed penalty tickets
have been issued. Manningtree Town council also complained about
motorists early in the morning speeding along Station Road. An
early check was carried out from 0500hrs to 0700hrs and a number of
tickets issued. 21st Jan 2012- A parking issue has been highlighted
along Station road, Lawford where commuters are parking to avoid
paying car parking fees. Most of the cars are not parked illegally.
This issue is being looked at in conjuntion with the parish council
to resolve it.

Our Special Constables who work from Mistley Police Station on a
regular basis are currently looking at speeding issues across our

fixed penalty notice.
If you think you have any information about any of the reported
crimes please contact Mistley police station via either the
Community mobile or the main switchboard.
If you have any information about crime issues in your area then
please contact us.
Please be aware of two reported scams to police in the area of
Tendring and the surrounding areas.
Members of the public are receiving telephone calls at their home
addresses from a company (name unknown) stating they are advising
the customer they are due a refund on their council tax bills. They
try to obtain bank details which are then used to remove funds from
the customers account. Please do not supply any personal over the
phone.
A second scam is where members of the public are receiving
telephone calls from a foreign sounding male stating there is a
problem/virus on their computers. They are instructed to log on and
go through a set of instructions which will sort the issue. If the
instructions are carried out your personal details from the
computer may be obtained.
If you are concerned about the security at your home please take a
look at the Be Safe part of our website for handy hints to keep you
and your family safe. If you would like any further advice please
give us a call.
We are conducting as many high visibility patrols in the area to
deal with any Anti- Social issuse that may arise
The CCTV system at Market Place, Manningtree is now fully
operational. This system records pictures across the Market area
and across to the Takeaway shops. This can be reviewed if necessary
if any issues are reported to us.
If you have any issues that you would like us to look into please
contact us.
You can take action in a number of ways to help make your
neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
