Update

DWELLING BURGLARIES - Please report any suspicious activity of unknown people seen in rear gardens or loitering near to unoccupied properties during the day. There have been a few recent burglaries in the Harwich area and an Operation has been initiated to prevent this trend escalating and catch the burglars.

If you have any information regarding any crimes or incidents in your area please contact Harwich Police or Crimestoppers on the contact numbers shown or via email. Your information could assist us with our enquiries and possibly stop the offenders carrying out further crimes in your area.

METAL THEFT - Please be on the lookout for suspicious activities relating to removal of lead from roofs as there have been several thefts of this nature recently in and around the Harwich area.

Hare Coursing - please advise your local police station on 101, if people are seen in your area committing this offence. If safe to do so please record details of any vehicles, number of people and dogs involved but do not approach them.

Cycling - Please make sure if you use a pedal cycle during the hours of darkness you have working lights on your bike so you are visible to other road users. It is also a bright idea to wear light coloured or reflective clothing. Be safe, be seen.

If you would like to attend a public meeting to discuss any current issues affecting the Oakleys please see the advertised dates for Neighbourhood Action Panel meetings in the events section.

Please take a look at the Be Safe section of our website where you can get handy hints to keep you and your property safe.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
