Corringham West
Welcome to the Welcome to the Corringham West Neighbourhood
Policing Team pages. We are committed to making your neighbourhood
a safer place to live, work and visit and will work with the
community and our partners to tackle local problems. Corringham
West is part of the Thurrock district and covers areas including
The Homestead, Stanford Le Hope East and Corringham Town.
Below you’ll find the members of your Neighbourhood Policing
Team and details of how to contact them.
Sergeant Christain Howell (Collar number 70626)
Earning promotion in 2010 I have served in a variety of roles
across the south of the County since joining the Police in 2005. I
look forward to using the experience I have gained to benefit the
community of Thurrock, working alongside our partners and
organisations in the borough. Thurrock is a diverse and developing
area which will provide many challenges. I aim to build on the good
work and relationships that have taken place in recent years. One
of my first priorities will be to engage and listen to our
residents to reflect what the local community is telling us is
important to them. This will enable those involved in community
safety to support each other in addressing problems quickly. These
are challenging times, Essex Police has not avoided the spending
cuts but I honestly believe that by working smarter and by
involving more of you we can work together to bring more offenders
to justice, seek longer prison sentences for those that commit the
more serious offences and reduce crime, effectively making Thurrock
safer.

Update
Burglary is our main focus in the area. Please secure your property
by double locking all doors and windows, especially the front door
as this is the most common point of access, even if in the house.
Do not leave any items such as laptops and purses or wallets on
display that can be seen from outside. Recently, high value
vehicles are being stolen from driveways outisde addresses, so
remain vigilant, remember to close the windows and leave a light
on.
Furthemore, the has been a recent rise in the amount of burglaries
occurruing in premises other than dwellings such as sheds,
outhouses and schools. You are advised to be vigilant in securely
locking all buildings at this time, not just houses, whilst we work
to catch those responsible.
Leave a light on or even better invest in a timer switch that will
turn a light/lamp on for you before you get home, giving the
impression in these dark afternoons that someone is in the
house.
Read our Be Safe section for more crime prevention advice.
You can take action in a number of ways to help make your
neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
