Stanford

Welcome to the Welcome to the Stanford Neighbourhood Policing Team pages. We are committed to making your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit and will work with the community and our partners to tackle local problems. Stanford is part of the Thurrock district and covers areas including Stanford Le Hope West.

Below you’ll find the members of your Neighbourhood Policing Team and details of how to contact them.

Sergeant Christian Howell (Collar number 70626)

Earning promotion in 2010 I have served in a variety of roles across the south of the County since joining the Police in 2005. I look forward to using the experience I have gained to benefit the community of Thurrock, working alongside our partners and organisations in the borough. Thurrock is a diverse and developing area which will provide many challenges. I aim to build on the good work and relationships that have taken place in recent years. One of my first priorities will be to engage and listen to our residents to reflect what the local community is telling us is important to them. This will enable those involved in community safety to support each other in addressing problems quickly. These are challenging times, Essex Police has not avoided the spending cuts but I honestly believe that by working smarter and by involving more of you we can work together to bring more offenders to justice, seek longer prison sentences for those that commit the more serious offences and reduce crime, effectively making Thurrock safer.

Update

We are currently experiencing high levels of burglaries in the area. Please follow these basic steps to help avoid being a victim:

1. Lock all windows and doors before leaving your home.
2. Make sure if you have a UPVC door you lock it with a key and not by just pulling up the handle.
3. Do not leave valuables if you can help it in sight of windows that can be seen from passers by.
4. Leave a light on if possible when you’re out. Maybe invest in a light on a timer?
5. Do not leave house keys, shed keys or car keys near door and windows.
6. Do not leave any tools accessible in your back garden. These will be used by the burglar to enter your property.

Following these steps may be just what is needed to beat the burglar.

There has also been a rise in reported vehicle crime an operation has been put in place to combat this.
Again please ensure that your vehicle is locked and secure at all times and remove valubles from the vehicle. Also number plates are being stolen from vehicles- we have anti theft screws at Corringham Police Station that are free. Please call in or email us to receive some.

You can take action in a number of ways to help make your neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
