Below you can read about the issues you have made a
policing priority in your neighbourhood. We aim to act on the
issues that matter the most to you.
Local Priority
Residents being affected by cruisers on weekend nights in West
Thurrock (especially surrounding the Lakeside Area)
Raised on 05/07/2012
A large amount of work is still being done surrounding this
issue. Multi agency meetings will be reestablished in the new year
to try and bring local shops and businesses on board to combat the
issue. Our dispersal order remains in place and continues to deter
the cruisers and give us powers to remove them from the area.
Assessments into future possible road modifications are being
looked at and patrols remain in place to combat the issue.
Residents in Chafford Hundred and Aveley have recently been
reporting noise issues from the cruisers and I urge them to call
101 when the issues area affecting them so that we can respond to
appropriate areas and tackle the issues at the time they are
happening.
Updated on 27/02/2013
Local Priority
Anti social behaviour by youths on the Garrison Estate in
Purfleet, particularly on Garrison Parade.
Raised on 27/02/2013
The Neighbourhood Policing Team are responding to residents and
businesses worries. Please call Police on 101 if you witness anti
social behaviour and report it, so that we can attend and deal.

Update
South West Thurrock and Purfleet's Neighbourhood Constables take a
no nonsense approach to drugs cultivation, supply and possession in
the area. Our team continue to execute court warrants under section
23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, dismantling and confiscating
the expensive equipment and prosecuting drug cultivators and
dealers harshly. Over the last 2 years, we have been very
successful. Over twenty large cannabis cultivations have been shut
down soon after their establishment and thousands of plants
destroyed.
Police operations are in place and running regularly to prevent
burglaries occurring to dwellings, sheds and other out buildings
using numerous policing tools. We are also targetting crime against
vehicles and anti social behaviour.
Through proactive patrol we are gathering significant intelligence
on would be thieves, which has enabled us to target offenders to
further reduce their ability to commit crime in the area. Our team
utilise all modes of patrol including pedal cycle, so that no part
our area is inaccessible to us and there is nowhere criminal
activity can go untempered.
There has been a recent escalation in the amount of metal thefts
and cable thefts from building sites, due to the amount of
re-development occurring in the area. The items being stolen are
heavy and cumbersome, and would need a vehicle close by to assist
in its transportation. All residents are asked to be vigilant to
unknown vehicles seen in suspicious circumstances and to contact
police immediately using 999 if they think or suspect a crime is in
progress.
Our ability to respond quickly to rising crime depends on
information from those that live in the area affected. If you have
any information relating to crime please contact Pc 74057 ARMSTRONG
on 07866 543494 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
You can take action in a number of ways to help make your
neighbourhood a safer place to live, work and visit.
