The men were both white. The first was wearing ankle-length grey troursers and a grey hoodie with red writing on the front. The second was wearing blue jeans and a green tracksuit top.

Six days later, on Saturday, July 16, 2011, two men armed with a hammer and a chisel demanded money from the till at the Co-op store in Lodge Lane, Grays just after 8.10pm.

When staff told the men they couldn’t open the tills, they smashed them and fled the store with three money trays.

The men were both white and aged in their mid 20s. One was wearing a black tracksuit top with stripes on the sleeves, black three quarter length jogging bottoms with grey stripes down the legs and white trainers. The other had fair to ginger hair and was wearing a black tracksuit top which was grey at the top and black at the bottom, black tracksuit bottoms, white trainers.

No one was injured in any of the robberies but staff members were left very shocked and shaken.

Police are appealing for anyone who can identify the man in the CCTV still or has information that could help police with their investigation to contact  Pc Paul Gutteridge or Pc Alex Brooks in Grays CID on 0300 333 4444.
