Can you name this man?

Detectives are releasing CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with a robbery on Canvey Island.

The attack happened when a man entered the Texaco garage shop on Somnes Avenue shortly before 10:30pm on Thursday, March 29 and threatened staff with a knife, forcing them to hand over a three-figure sum of cash. He then ran off towards the town centre.

Investigating Officer, Dc Neil Hudson, said: "We hope that someone can help us to identify this man and certainly before he tries to commit another robbery. As you may see, he was wearing light clothing which would have stood out on that Thursday night, especially when he ran off from the station forecourt.”

The assailant pictured is described as white, in his 30s and approximately 5ft 8ins tall.

Anyone with information in connection with this robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101.
