Do you recognise this man?

Police are hoping the public can help identify a thief who withdrew £700 from a bank account using a bank card stolen from a Chelmsford gym.

The theft happened from Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre on Riverside Retail Park during the afternoon of Thursday, July 14, 2011 when a wallet, containing several cash cards, was stolen from a locker in the men’s changing room.

One of the cards was then used to withdraw £700 from both Santander branches in the town centre within 30 minutes of each other.

Investigating Officer, Pc Emma Heighton, said: "This man entered the two branches and used the stolen bank card to withdraw the cash from the cashier. He claimed to have forgotten the PIN. We would urge people to closely at the CCTV and help us identify him.”

Anyone with information in connection with this theft is urged to contact investigating officers at Chelmsford police station on 101.
