Teenage girl assaulted in Great Leighs

Detectives urgently need to speak to witnesses who may have seen a teenage girl assaulted by a man in Great Leighs on Wednesday evening.

The girl was pushed into the bushes and touched over her clothes in School Lane at about 8.30pm on October 20.

She had just got off the bus when a man tried to engage her in conversation before following her.

The man is described as white, 5ft 8in and aged between 25 and 30. He had black hair swept over in a messy modern style and was shaven. The man was wearing a black jacket, v neck top and blue jeans.

The victim managed to scream and run off. She was shaken but otherwise unhurt.

Ds Gary Robinson said: "I urge anyone with any information, or who recognises the description of the suspect to contact detectives in Chelmsford.

"Fortunately the girl was not injured but very upset by the incident and we need to find this man as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives in Chelmsford on 0300 333 4444.
