Armed robbery at Loughton pub
Police are appealing for information about a pub robbery in
which a five figure sum of cash and a landlord's van were
stolen.
A man armed with a knife threatened the landlord of the Plume of
Feathers Pub in Church Hill, Loughton on Wednesday, December 29
before making off in his Vauxhall Combi van.
The landlord was in an office upstairs in the pub when the
suspect forced him to hand over the money at about 9.45am.
The landlord's white van was found abandoned under the M25 at
Waltham Abbey an hour later.
The suspect is described as white, 5ft 10in tall and
of stocky build. He was wearing a black balaclava and
dark clothing.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man
entering or leaving the pub that morning and would also like to
hear from anyone who may have seen the van being abandoned under
the motorway, later that day, sometime between 09.45am and
10.45am.
