Boy seriously injured in collision
Police have appealed for witnesses after a 12-year-old boy was
seriously injured in a road collision in Harlow.
The boy, a pupil at Mark Hall school, suffered leg injuries
when he was in collision with a silver Toyota Hilux pick up in
London Road on Friday, January 21, 2011.
The collision happened outside the entrance to Mark Hall sports
centre at about 1.25pm.
The boy was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital where his
condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.
A 39-year-old man from Harlow was arrested at the scene on
suspicion of drink driving. He has been bailed until March 26,
2011 pending further enquiries.
London Road was closed until about 6.15pm while police crash
investigators carried out initial enquiries.
Investigating officer Pc Michele Lockyer said: “We would like to
thank all those members of the public who provided assistance at
the scene and those who were directly affected or disrupted due to
the road closures at the very busy school collection time.”
