Christine Chambers, 38, and her two-year-old daughter Shania died following a shooting in Bartram Avenue in the early hours of Monday, June 6, 2011.

Christine Chambers' parents Ken and Jean Chambers said: "Chrissie was a wonderful daughter, mother and sister. She was a lovely looking girl with a wicked laugh and sense of humour.
We were proud to have her as a daughter.

"Shania was a beautiful little girl who would light up a room. We feel blessed to have had her in our lives for the short time we did.

"We would like to thank everyone for kind messages. All the teddies that were left are being donated to the children’s hospice.”

Police launched a murder investigation and arrested a 50-year-old man. The man has now left hospital and will be taken to a police station in north Essex where he will be charged with two counts of murder.

The man will be appearing at Colchester Magistrates Court this afternoon, Friday, June 24.
