Woman sexually assaulted in Basildon

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was found collapsed in the street after being sexually assaulted.

The 30-year-old woman was found on The Hatherley, Basildon by police officers in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, May 1, 2011.

The woman, who was wearing a white dress, was attacked at the junction of Whitmore Way and Honeypot Lane between midnight 1.15am.

After the attack she made her way along Whitmore Way to The Hatherley where she collapsed .

She has not yet been able to give police officers a description of her attacker but police are appealing for anyone with information, however insignificant it might appear, to contact the South Western Serious Crime Team on 0300 333 4444.
