Chelmsford man to stand trial for murder

A 22-year-old cleaner from Chelmsford will stand trial in November for the murder of 54-year-old man from Hertfordshire.

Michael Brennan from The Green in the Melbourne area of Chelmsford was charged with the murder of  Paul Simons after his body was discovered inside a flat on Moulsham Street, Chelmsford just after 12.30am on Saturday, May 4, 2013. 

A provisional post-mortem examination result showed that the 54-year-old from Prospect Close in Bushey died from stab wounds.

Michael Brennan appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, July 22, 2013 where he was remanded in custody. He will stand trial at the same court on Monday, November 11, 2013.
