Specials have more than their name in common
Essex Police was very
lucky when Chief Officer of the Special Constabulary, George Cook,
decided to join 47 years ago.
Now in 2010 as Chief Officer George Cook is about to
announce his retirement, another George Cook has joined the Special
Constabulary and hopes to be just as successful.
Special Constable George Cook, 18, works at a Co-op
store in Colchester and has been posted to the town's police
station.
If you are interested in joining the Special Constabulary or
would like to see first hand what being a Special Constable
involves, visit one of the regular open evenings at your local
police station.
