Seven post boxes damaged by fireworks
Police have appealed for information after seven postboxes were
damaged in rural areas around Chelmsford.
The metal Royal Mail boxes are believed to have had fireworks
exploded inside them on Monday, January 7, 2013.
Postboxes were damaged at Stagden Cross and The Street
in High Easter between 2.30pm and 3.15pm, Bakers Mead
in Great Waltham at about 3.30pm and Mill Green Road in Mill
Green which was discovered after 11pm. Three were also
damaged in Ingatestone Road in Highwood just after
All the incidents are being linked and investigating officers
want to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information about
those involved. They also want to speak to the driver of a black
and yellow Astra seen in High Easter at the time of the

call police if they see anyone tampering with postboxes or acting
suspiciously around them.
