Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was killed in a road crash in Chafford Hundred.

The collision happened when the rider of a black Suzuki GSF appeared to lose control while riding along Devonshire Road and struck a road sign just before 7am on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.

The rider, 41-year-old John Eggleton of Hawkins Drive in Chafford Hundred, was taken to Basildon University Hospital where he sadly died a short time later.

John was a welder whose life revolved around his family and his work.
