How smart is that?
Twelve-year-old Emily Willson passed the 2SMART test with flying
colours, successfully answering a series of questions about the
force’s Children and Young People's Policing Pledge.

Her impressive knowledge of the pledge, which sets out clear
priorities for Essex Police and shapes the way it deals with issues
and the public’s concerns, won her an iPod Touch and a Bose docking
station.
Emily, a pupil at Newport Free Grammar School, successfully
completed an online 2SMART quiz.
Safer schools partnership officer Pc Ryan McNamara, part of the
Uttlesford Youth Team, and Jo van Zanten, youth development
co-ordinator for the Children & Young People's Policing Team,
presented Emily with her prizes.
Jo said: “The competition was a way of gauging whether young
people are understanding and engaging with the educational work we
do through the 2SMART programmes.
"Emily’s answers were spot on, and clearly showed that she had
grasped what we are trying to achieve through our commitment to the
Policing Pledge.”
2SMART is the award-winning initiative which undertakes
preventative and educational work with young people, helping to
equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to make
intelligent choices when confronted with issues around alcohol,
drugs, bullying and knife crime.
