Fingerprint fun at Essex Police Museum
Mucky fingers are not normally welcome in museums but at Essex
Police Museum it’s encouraged.

Children are invited to come to the museum at Essex Police
headquarters on Wednesday, August 4, between 11am and 4pm to
create their own designs and pictures using their fingerprints.
They will use coloured inks and other materials to make their
pictures whilst understanding how the fine lines that appear from
their fingerprint can help the police catch criminals.
Museum Curator Becky Wash said: “Using fingerprints to detect
criminals revolutionised policing. Helping children to understand
the importance of fingerprints as a policing tool is exciting - it
is amazing to think that each person has their own unique
fingerprints.
"Fingerprint art is an opportunity to have fun and learn about
how fingerprints can help police officers.”
Make your own fingerprint art is free and open to children aged
3+.
It is being held at the Essex Police Museum at Essex Police HQ,
Sandford Road, Chelmsford CM2 6DN.
