Thank you cards boomerang back to Epping PCSOs

Two thank you cards went to Australia and back before they found their rightful owners at Epping police station in Essex.

The cards were sent by a woman who broke down in her Ford Galaxy in Waltham Abbey in January.

PCSOs Carley Etherington and Laura Martin found the stranded woman and stayed with her until recovery arrived.

The two separate cards thanking Carley and Laura for their kindness were sent with their collar numbers on but with the address of Epping police station in Australia on the envelopes.

PCSO Carley Etherington said: “We were most surprised when we received a letter from Epping police station in Victoria, Australia.  It stated they had searched their records and found no match to the collar numbers and no address of Waltham Abbey in Victoria, so they searched the internet and found we were the rightful owners.  They wanted to ensure we received the thank you cards and sent them back to us."

PCSO Laura Martin said: “We are very amazed and very grateful that everyone has gone to so much effort to ensure we received the cards.  It was a lovely boost to our day.”
