Volunteers needed at Essex Police Museum

Essex Police Museum in Chelmsford is looking for a team of volunteers to assist visitors and help document the museum collection.

Essex Police Museum is a registered charity and provides free visits for schools and groups across the county.  It relies on the help of volunteers to assist the curator in running the museum on a daily basis.

The roles required include tour guides, archive assistants, an evaluation interpreter and a birthday party organiser.

In the video above we meet two volunteers who tell us about the role and why they enjoy being a volunteer at the museum.

Curator Becky Wash says “This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone with an interest in museums or policing.  Whether you are a student wishing to gain work experience or retired with some free time to spare, volunteering at Essex Police Museum can help you gain new skills and provides a service for your local community.”

For more information and an application form please email Becky Wash at museum@essex.pnn.police.uk or telephone, 01245 457 150.
