Scooter safety

Essex Police motorcyclists have been sharing their expertise with young scooter and motorbike riders in Harlow.

A team of motorcyclists visited Harlow College to work with students who have recently started riding and educate them about road safety, driving behaviour and basic mechanics.

In the film above we follow Pc Jonathan Harman and his colleagues from Essex Police’s Operational Policing Command as they take students on an assessed ride around the town and run through the importance of wearing appropriate clothing and checking tyres, brakes and steering.

Pc Harman said: “It’s very important we get involved in this quite simply because these riders could be our casualties of tomorrow. It’s important we get the right messages home at this early stage of their riding career.”
