Priorities for Blenheim Local map and area covered

The local community priorities for Blenheim are:

We ask: Your local neighbourhood policing team along with our partners want to know the community issues which matter to you. You can come and tell us at one of the events below, submit a web contact form, call the team's mobile phone number or stop them in the street to tell them what matters to you.

You say: The issues you tell us about are taken to a Neighbourhood Action Panel (NAP). At this meeting, representatives from your community will consider all the concerns raised and decide upon prioritised actions.

We deliver: Working together we will address these priorities and keep you updated on progress. Click on your current community priorities above to view their progress and search those already completed. As part of our policing pledge to you, any issues you call us about which are listed as a neighbourhood priority will be attended within 60 minutes when attendance is required.

Actions and updates for Blenheim

As a result of the hard work by both the police and members of the local community, I am pleased to report that compared to this time last year, overall crime in Blenheim has been driven down by 18% (compared to the same three months last year). This is very encouraging and proves that by working together, we can make a real difference to the lives of everyone who lives or visits the Blenheim neighbourhood.

Anti-social behaviour has seen an increase by 38.5% . I would therefore still encourage you to call us if you experience any large groups of youths that are acting in an anti-social manner, as we can, and will, look into any problem areas and deal positively with any offenders.

Although crime has been reduced, (car crime, robbery and vehicle crime have all been reduced by up to 40%) it is still our goal to reduce crime even more and as we have recently seen an increase in domestic burglaries and car crime in other neighbourhoods. We want to bring this to your attention and ask you all to help us combat this current issue.

We continue to ask you to make sure you lock your cars at all times and remove any valuables such as sat navs, mobile phones, laptops and any bags/rucksacks that may attract a criminal passer-by.

As the winter evenings draw in, we would ask you to consider fitting external lighting on your property for any areas that aren't well lit, especially those areas near to any doors or large windows. Look at installing timer switches to allow lights / radios to come on and give the impression that people are in even if you are still at work. You should also ensure that you remove keys from view (including car keys) and that you do not let anyone into your home that you have not invited or that you were not expecting, without seeing some identification or being happy that they are who they say they are. People will pretend to be from the 'water board' for example and may even wear clothing to help their disguise but don't be fooled. Any genuine caller should be happy to show identificatiion and allow you time to call the company to confirm they have staff in your area.

Operation Blackhawk saw your NSOs were out in strength, targeting anti-social behaviour over the Halloween and bonfire nights. We saw a massive reduction in the amount of calls of that type, compared to previous years and although we seized some alchohol and fireworks, the majority of youths we spoke to were well behaved and not casuing any annoyance or harm to others which proves that only a few teenagers are any kind of problem.

Finally, we would ask that you report any suspicious activity to police immediately using 999.

Please note that we continue to hold regular police surgeries at various locations where you can come along and speak with us on a one-to-one basis. If you have any questions or would like any advice on crime prevention or home security, please come along. The times and dates for all of these meetings are listed below
