Places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
Please also note the following information about attending a hearing:
- Please bring photographic ID with you, failure to do so will result in exclusion from the hearing.
- If you haven't registered to attend in advance of the hearing, admittance will be declined.
- Travel and attendance is in your own time and at your own expense.
- Parking on police premises is not available.
- Refreshments are not provided.
- Anyone who is believed to present a security risk to the force may not be allowed access to police premises and attendees could be searched if it’s felt necessary.
- All mobile phones must be switched off or set to silent in the hearing room.
- Audio and video recording is not allowed.
- Any behaviour that does, or is likely to interfere with the proper conduct of proceedings may result in you being required to leave.
- At the discretion of the Chair, you may be required to leave part of the hearing, as rules governing the conduct of proceedings allow for all or part of the hearing not to be held in public
- Those under the age of 16 cannot attend.
- Animals will not be permitted, with the exception of guide dogs/assistance dog.
- The venue chosen will have disabled access. However, it is advised that any specific requests regarding access are communicated to the hearings co-ordinator prior to attendance at any hearing.
- The force reserves the right to decline attendance where numbers are restricted due to venue capacity. The Force may also offer places to members of the public who haven't previously attended a hearing in favour of those who have already done so
- Officers and staff of Essex Police will only be permitted to attend on rest days or whilst off duty, unless required at the hearing.
- Members of the public should familiarise themselves with the location of emergency/fire exits and evacuate the building promptly should the need arise.
