How to report knife crime in Essex
Chief Superintendent Paul Wells says: “The public has a major role to play in helping us to tackle knife crime. We urge you to report anyone that you know is carrying a knife. You can do this anonymously via Fearless who will pass on any reports to us.
“We know that you might not want somebody close to you to get in trouble for carrying a knife but by helping us take knives off the street, you could be saving somebody’s life and saving their family, friends and the wider community from a lifetime of devastation.”
You can report anyone you suspect could be involved in knife crime in a variety of ways:
Fearless is an independent organisation that offers young people the option to report crime anonymously. The organisation works with police forces to pass on crime reports while protecting the anonyomity of the informant. You can report crime anonymously through their website: www.fearless.org
You can now report crime online to us through our website: www.essex.police.uk/doitonline
You can also report non-emergency crime to us by calling 101 and we urge you in an emergency to always dial 999.
